The Social Justice Department has invited nominations for two State awards: the Vayoseva Award 2026, for outstanding work for senior citizens, and the State Disability Award 2026, for outstanding work in the disability sector.
Vayoseva Award 2026

Last date for nominations: 31 October 2026
The award is for:
- Government and non-government bodies that are implementing good schemes and activities to ensure the welfare and protection of senior citizens.
- Eminent senior citizens who have shown excellence in the fields of arts, sports and culture.

State Disability Award 2026
Notification No. SJD/1902/2026-PC3 dated 06-10-2026
Each award comprises a cash prize, a memento and a certificate. As per G.O. (Ordinary) No. 216/2026/SJD dated 08-09-2026, 30 awards are given in 16 categories, from best employee with disability and best NGO to best District Panchayat and best Grama Panchayat.
Last date for nominations at the District Social Justice Offices: 25 October 2026
Last date for nominations, with the district committees’ recommendations, to reach the Director of Social Justice: 5 November 2026
- Individuals and institutions cannot apply for the award themselves. People and organisations working in the field can nominate eligible persons or institutions.
- Nominations must reach the Director of Social Justice by post. Nominations sent by email, or without the required documents, are not considered.
