sapnaMs. Sapna joined in 1999 as a faculty member in the Early Intervention Department.  Before Joining NISH she was active in both print and electronic media. She was the Coordinator & Faculty in Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (DECSE) for three years. Sapna now handles sessions, in the Preschool and the Early Intervention Programme.  She also coordinates the Communication & Awareness Wing of CCMD

Ms Swapna has about 20 years of experience in the field of Graphic Design and has Experience in developing educational and awareness material for persons with disability. She coordinated the project funded by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Kerala under the scheme of ‘Developing Computer Aided Teaching & Learning Materials for Mentally Challenged Children’ which was executed by NISH. She has M.G.T.E Higher Grade certificates in Painting, Freehand Drawing and Design, Certificates in Multimedia, Still Photography, Videography and Interior Decoration. She coordinates Digital Media & Graphics wing of CCMD. She also engages multimedia lab sessions for the Degree (HI) students.

Silvy Maxi Mena, MA  English Litt.;  PG Diploma in Journalism & Public Relations, ISL ‘A’ and ‘B’ Level

Ms Silvy began her career as a teacher in 1995 at Baselius college, Kottayam and as a journalist in 1997 when she joined 'Tourism India' magazine as special correspondent. She has worked with major newspapers like The Hindu, The New Indian Express, The Times of India, different magazines, TV channels like SS Entertainment, Doordarshan and the All India Radio. She has published articles on famous personalities,authored books and produced TV programmes. She is presently a faculty member in English and the Coordinator of Academics and News in Indian Sign Language (ISL) wing of CCMD. She does content writing and edits articles and newsletters. She trains the deaf students to sign songs and to perform dance using ISL. She coordinates NISH News & making of E- Books in ISL. 

Pishon S. Fernandez, M A. Graphic design

shijuPishon Fernandez graduated in Fine Arts from NISH. He served as the Arts Club Secretary of the college during the academic year 2013-2014. As Arts club secretary he coordinated events integrating a mixed group of students, hearing and the deaf. Pishon then did his post-graduation in Graphic Designing from St.Joseph's College of Communication, Changanacherry and immediately joined a Bangalore-based advertising company as a Junior Designer. His passion brought him back to NISH in 2020. He has since been working as a Graphic Artist at NISH. Pishon has been assisting in the video editing work of the special daily ISL news broadcasted from NISH. And has also been supporting other graphic related works at NISH.

Ms. Arya S.S, a resident of Thiruvananthapuram, graduated in English Language and Literature from S.N.College TVM, affiliated to the University of Kerala. She holds a diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (HI) from NISH. She has been working as the faculty of Early Intervention Department for two years. At present she is bestowed with both the pre-school session as well as the  Early Intervention Programme. Moreover she maneuvers the social media and website updation under CCMD.

shijuShiju R V is from Trivandrum. He started his career as an Art Instructor in 2004. He joined NISH as a Lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts in January 2011. Shiju has graduated with a degree in Fine Arts (Applied Arts) from College of Fine Arts, Trivandrum in 2010. He supports CCMD by carrying out photo & video shoots.

DaisyMs. Daisy Sebastian has been with NISH since its inception in 1997. She played a major role in setting up the Preschool and Parent Guidance Centre following the best practices in the education of young deaf and hard of hearing children. Currently, she is the coordinator of the various academic programs (ASLP, Degree (HI), DECSE) and Intervention Programs at NISH.

KrishnaprasadMr. Krishnaprasad K. K. is an enthusiastic professional with more than 8 years of extensive experience in Finance and Accounts. He joined NISH in 2013. He is a Graduate in Commerce and Auditing and is pursuing his Postgraduate degree in Commerce. He has also worked with an auditing firm for about two years. ITNISH’s Information Technology Department provides technology platforms for use across the Campus, technology consulting, development, and support for the Hearing Science, Speech Language Science, Allied Services, Autism Spectrum and Related Disorders, New Initiatives, Research and Academic programmes.


Sankar is a former partner of McKinsey & Company, who led McKinsey's healthcare practice, initially in India, and then in Greater China. At McKinsey, in addition to serving clients, Sankar was the global Dean of the key leadership development program for consultants. He was also the head of the recruiting team for McKinsey's India office. After 14 years in McKinsey, Sankar left the firm in July 2006 to set up as an independent consultant in the not-for-profit/ development sector in India.

Since leaving McKinsey, Sankar has focused on developing sustainable solutions to developmental challenges in healthcare and education. He has worked with a global foundation in India to assess the impact of their programs for AIDS prevention and develop an organizational model for the future. He has been a strategic advisor to a leading non-profit institution in India for the hearing-impaired to help develop a blueprint for its growth path and enhance effectiveness of delivery. Till recently, Sankar was also working with a multi country organization for the blind to develop and establish an international institute for social entrepreneurship. He was recently invited by a leading private University in the US to guide students to effectively support developmental initiatives in India. He continues to help global clients develop top team effectiveness, is lead faculty on some of McKinsey's worldwide leadership development programs, and serves on the advisory boards of a multinational pharmaceutical company and two fast growing companies in the technology sector.

Sankar holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, graduating in the top 5 of his class. He holds a B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Kerala, finishing college first, and University third rank across all branches.
