Dr. Anne Varghese, MA, MPhil, PhD (Psychology) |

Dr. Anne has been the head psychologist at NISH since its inception in 1997. She had joined with an MPhil degree in Psychology and received her doctoral degree in 2010. She has the Play Therapy Level 1 Certification recognized by the National Association for Play Therapy India. Her area of interest is Sports Psychology, Disability Sports and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities. She was a member of the Sport Psychology Kerala team of the 35th National Games 2015 assigned for athletics, canoeing-kayaking, cycling and tennis teams. She has passed the Diploma in Community Mental Health for Psychologists (2021) and Certificate Course in Basics of Addiction Management (2022) offered by the NIMHANS Digital Academy and the Diploma in Sports Psychology (2023) offered by the LNIPE (ODL), Gwalior. She has initiated several collaborative projects at both national and international levels, including projects with the University of Michigan, School of Information (UMSI) to create the online platform Access Hub for persons with disability in India. She has also been the principal investigator for funded projects by SID, CDC, and other government organizations. |

Ms. Jumin Mary Joseph has done her MPhil in Clinical Psychology from SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Center, Chennai and MPhil in Psychology (Learning Disabilities) from University of Kerala. She had been working in hospital and clinical settings for about 3 years before joining NISH in 2013. She has completed the Teachers Training Program in Learning Disabilities conducted by Madras Dyslexia Association (MDA), Chennai and the Foundation Course on Education of Children with Learning Disabilities recognized by RCI. She has completed the Play Therapy Level 1 certification recognized by the National Association for Play therapy India. Her areas of interest include assessment and management of children and adults with disabilities and mental health concerns. |

Ms Anju V J, currently works as Rehabilitation Psychologist/Lecturer at the Department of Psychology in NISH. She has done her MPhil in Rehabilitation Psychology from National Institute for the Empowerment of Person with Intellectual Disability (NIEPID), Secunderabad and MPhil in Psychology (Learning Disabilities) from University of Kerala. She has completed the Play Therapy Level 1 certification recognized by the National Association for Play therapy India. Before joining NISH, she worked as a School Counsellor for 2 years under the Social Justice Department, Government of Kerala. She joined NISH in January 2012. Her clinical interests include assessment and management of Neurodevelopmental Disorders which includes Intellectual disabilities (ID), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other behavioral issues

Ms. Jeena Mathew is an RCI Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has completed her MPhil in Clinical Psychology from SRM Medical College and Research Centre, Chennai. She received her degree from Women's Christian College in Chennai and did her postgraduate studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai. Additionally, she completed a postgraduate certificate programme in psychological counseling at the Christian Counseling Centre in Vellore. Prior to her employment at NISH, she held a reputable position as a psychologist and lecturer in an educational institution. Her areas of interest include conducting assessments and therapeutic interventions for adults and children with mental health difficulties, as well as providing lectures and awareness workshops on mental health well being to a range of groups. |

Ms. Nimitha Liz Joseph is an RCI licensed Clinical Psychologist and HCPC UK registered Practitioner Psychologist. She has completed her MPhil in Clinical Psychology from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Porur, Chennai and has completed her MSc in Counseling and Guidance from Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College, affiliated to University of Madras. She was previously working in a multidisciplinary neuropsychiatric clinic that is based in Chennai. She has obtained the Play Therapy Level 1 certification as recognized by the National Association for Play therapy India. |
Dr. C.K. Dhanapandian, M.Sc, MPhil (Psy), MPhil (Rehabilitation Psychology), PhD (Psychology) |

Dr. C.K. Dhanapandian is a Rehabilitation Psychologist with a background in psychology and disability rehabilitation. He received a Doctorate from Bharathiar University and an M.Phil. from NIEPID. He is an associate editor for the Journal of Rehabilitation Sciences and Disability Studies (JRSDS) published by NISH. In 2021, he received the ‘’Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Best Teacher Award’ from the Redpond Educational and Psychological Research Centre in Madurai. He has coordinated and facilitated a number of training programmes, including RCI-accredited CRE programmes. His research interests include behaviour modification, cognitive training, and the creation of training modules for people with special needs and their family. |
