Ms. Sapna joined NISH in 1999 as a faculty member in the Early Intervention Department. Prior to joining NISH, she was actively involved in both print and electronic media.

Over the years, she has held several responsibilities at NISH, including In-charge of the Early Intervention Programme (EIP), Coordinator of the Preschool, and Coordinator and Faculty of the Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (DECSE) programme.

Currently, she serves as the Coordinator of the Centre for Communication & Media Development (CCMD) and heads its Communication and Awareness Wing. In this role, she oversees content development, communication, publications, and awareness initiatives aimed at promoting disability inclusion and accessibility.

 

Ms. Swapna has about 27 years of experience in the field of graphic design, with expertise in coordinating and developing educational and awareness materials for persons with disabilities. She holds M.G.T.E. Higher-Grade certificates in painting, freehand drawing, and design, as well as certificates in multimedia, still photography, videography, and interior decoration. She coordinates the Digital Media & Graphics wing of CCMD and serves as the design consultant for various funded projects undertaken by NISH.

Pishon Fernandez graduated with a degree in fine arts from NISH. He completed his post-graduation in Graphic Design from St. Joseph's College of Communication, Changanacherry, securing Gold medal for the best student of the year and subsequently joined a Bangalore-based advertising company as a Junior Designer. He joined NISH as a Graphic Artist in 2020. An excellent photographer, Pishon covers events organized by NISH and handles photo shoots for the institute's magazines and awareness materials, while also supporting other graphic-related work. Additionally, he conducts multimedia lab sessions for Degree (HI) students.

Ms. Arya S.S, a resident of Thiruvananthapuram, graduated in English Language and Literature from S.N.College TVM, affiliated to the University of Kerala. She holds a diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (HI) from NISH. She has been working as the faculty of Early Intervention Department for two years. At present she is bestowed with both the pre-school session as well as the  Early Intervention Programme. Moreover she maneuvers the social media and website updation under CCMD.

Ms Silvy began her career as a teacher in 1995 at Baselius college, Kottayam and as a journalist in 1997 when she joined 'Tourism India' magazine as special correspondent. She has worked with major newspapers like The Hindu, The New Indian Express, The Times of India, different magazines, TV channels like SS Entertainment, Doordarshan and the All India Radio. She has published articles on famous personalities,authored books and produced TV programmes. She is presently a faculty member in English and the Coordinator of Academics and News in Indian Sign Language (ISL) wing of CCMD. She does content writing and edits articles and newsletters. She trains the deaf students to sign songs and to perform dance using ISL. She coordinates NISH News & making of E- Books in ISL.
