Gratitude reminds us of all that is good during difficult times! Yes, NISHians gratefully acknowledge the contributions of our nurses, Ms Lavanya and Ms. Mini during these stressful times of uncertainty!
Ms. Lavanya: Ms Lavanya proved to be one of the most valuable team members in the 24 x 7-COVID -19 helpline service started by NISH for the deaf and hard of hearing community. Her role was answering queries and providing information with the help of a sign language interpreter. However, Lavanya did more than that! She has on more than one occasion, gone out of her way, to contact the primary health centres, panchayats, district collector's office, and Disha, among many organisations ensured that the help sought was delivered. Recently, she pooled in her contacts ranging from the sub-collector to ward councillor to intervene on behalf of a deaf staff whose family had travelled from Odisha. All this was possible due to Lavanya's persistent efforts. All of us at NISH salute you for your initiative and commitment, Lavanya!
Ms. Mini: Amidst the pandemic outbreak, when it has been hard for even the most optimistic among us to stay positive, Ms Mini stepped in and took responsibility to ensure that everyone at NISH stays safe and healthy. She was very vigilant in giving the latest updates and warnings on COVID-19 and helped many to settle down during quarantine. She provided regular health advice through emails while keeping a constant check of our temperature! Her heartwarming and positive approach in these testing times is truly commendable! You have set an example of service and professionalism, Mini!
