"Shashidhar Rao Chavan, is associate Professor and Head of the Department of occupational therapy at NISH. He obtained BOT from S.V. National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (formerly, NIRTAR), M.Sc. –OT, from All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, (AIIPMR), Mumbai University, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Manipal University. 

He had been involved in teaching BOT students (1997-2015), coordinator for the post-graduate program (MOT) and guide for post-graduate students in child-health at Manipal College of allied health science, Manipal University. Also was a teaching faculty for BOT program (2015-2020) at Kuwait University. His teaching interests includes Biomechanics, neuroanatomy & neuroscience, neurodegenerative disease, OT in child developmental disabilities, Introduction to OT, and OT in physical dysfunctions. Research interests include rehabilitation and improve occupational participation and physical function in children. Recent research and clinical interests are in the areas of neuro-rehabilitation in adults and delivery of evidence-based practices in occupational therapy".

Ms Lynda George joined Nish as a consultant occupational therapist in 2017. She has nearly 37 years of experience in both adult and paediatric rehabilitation. She completed her BOT from Christian Medical College, Vellore and has worked in several hospitals and NGOs. She was the principal of Meenakshi College of O. T at Chennai and worked as a Professor at KMCH College of O. T in Coimbatore for 11 years. She has a PG diploma in cerebral palsy and has done an intermediary course in sensory integration.

Ms.Neethu Thampi joined NISH in 2015 as an  Occupational Therapist.  She started the Department of occupational therapy and set up the sensory Integration room and ADL Unit in NISH.

 

Professional Qualification: She completed her Bachelors in Occupational Therapy in 2014. In addition to her occupational therapy skills, she is a Certified Theratog Fitter (Level 1). Her additional qualification includes Certification in Oral Placement Therapy(Level1 & 2), Kinesiotaping (Level 1& 2) and Assistive Technology
