LREP – Logical Reasoning Enhancement Programme was planned to impart training to the deaf and hard of hearing students (DHH) for competitive exams including the government PSC exams and other technical interviews. The DHH students are unable to join the general training programmes conducted by private institutions, as these classes are not accessible to them. To appear in competitive exams and interviews, students need a strong hold on logical reasoning. The logical reasoning abilities of students who are deaf or hard of hearing tend to fall on the lower end of the average range. A lot of our graduates appearing for competitive exams do not have prior knowledge about such concepts.
LREP sessions were initiated by the Computer Science department and were included as a part of the regular timetable from 2016 onwards through all the semesters. Through these logical reasoning sessions, the students are trained to have a strong grasp and practise in the field from the very beginning.
During the last pandemic affected year, the programme was not included in the regular timetable due to restrictions in online class timings.
