NISH with the support of Directorate of Social Justice is organizing an online seminar on "Feeding difficulties in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): Things you must know" on 20th July 2019, Saturday from 10.30 am to 12.50 pm, handled by Ms Arya Manoharan, Audiologist, Speech Language Pathologist, NISH, Thiruvananthapuram.
Eating is a natural and essential human activity that is necessary to sustain life and ensure growth. But it can be a recurrent challenge for children with autism and a cause of stress for parents. Feeding difficulties have been observed and studied in children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) extensively since the earliest understanding of the disorder, even though the presence of feeding difficulties is not used in diagnosing autism. This presentation describes common feeding difficulties associated with the presence of autism spectrum disorder and information about possible interventions for this problem.
